Core drilling is possibly the most recognizable form of concrete cutting today. The most common application for core drilling
is the removal of concrete for electrical conduit, mechanical systems, HVAC systems, and plumbing.
Concrete Coring Co of Central KY has the capability to core drill holes smaller than 1" to greater than 48".
Depths can range from 6" to unlimited.
Wall Sawing
Wall sawing is one of the most specialized forms of concrete cutting available. With very deep cutting depths and accuracy of
rail mounted operation, this form of concrete cutting can be used to cut out doorways, walls, slabs, and most any other opening.
Concrete Coring Co of Central KY has several wall sawing options including hydraulic, and electric. Each form of wall saw has its
benefits depending on the job application. Cutting depths can be as much as 18" from one side, with heights and widths that are dimensionless.
Flat Sawing
The flat saw is often seen as the work horse in the concrete cutting industry. This tool is used for slab removal,
road cutting, bridge deck removal, joint cutting, and almost any other sawing application on a slab.
Concrete Coring Co of Central KY has many different flat saws depending upon the cutting application, the location, and
timeframe requirements. With cutting depths exceeding 20" and a fleet of saws available Concrete Coring Co of Central KY
can meet the demands of most any sawing job.
Electric Slab Sawing
The electric slab saw is a smaller version of the diesel or gas flat saw. However, the electric slab saw is used
for jobs that require significant cutting depth, but a large diesel or gasoline saw cannot reach. Tight areas, or
facilities that require zero emission equipment is often where this form of saw is most used.
Concrete Coring Co of Central KY has some of the most specialized electric slab saws available. A specialized 400Hz, water cooled, 25HP electric motor
allows us to achieve significant cutting depths in a very small saw. This specialized saw and electrical source allows us to reach over 500ft
into a facility with cutting depths of 9".
Chain Sawing
The chain saw is one of the newer developments within the concrete cutting industry. The concrete chain saw uses
the same principal as its wood cutting counterpart but utilizes water cooling and diamond segments welded to a chain for cutting.
Concrete Coring Co of Central KY has several different chainsaw applications to meet any customer’s needs. Hydraulic
powered chainsaws offer the most torque and production but require attachment to a power unit. We also hasve gas powered
chainsaws that can be portable to any place water hoses can reach.
The most common job for this tool is finishing corners on wall saw projects, eliminating the need for over-cutting. Concrete
chainsaws are also useful for small wall openings where setting up a wall saw is not possible or cost effective.
Grinding
Grinding involves the use of a diamond abrasive disc powered by a gasoline engine. The diamond abrasive disc is cooled by water
which also eliminates the production of dust. Grinding is often useful for smoothing concrete surfaces that have become rough
through abuse, weather, or issues during pouring.
Concrete Coring Co of Central KY has the ability to smooth most concrete surfaces through grinding.
Wire Sawing
Wire Sawing provides fast cutting speed, unlimited cutting depth, no vibration, and limited noise. This method of sawing is ideal for cutting mass concrete, reinforced concrete and sections of concrete too large for other methods. Concrete Coring Company has wire sawing options to meet any need.
Wire saws consist of a steel cable coated with diamond-tipped beads and a pulley system, which allows the cable to pull through the concrete, executing the cut with precision, no vibration, zero dust, or emissions.
GPR Scanning
Ground Penetrating Radar Scanning (GPR) is a new service that Concrete Coring Company of Central KY is providing. Have you ever had trouble:
Locating an underground utility?
Verifying the soils condition beneath the pavement?
Determining pavement layer thickness?
Locating a post-tension cable or rebar in concrete construction?
Concrete Coring Company has the ability to help with our Ground Penetrating Radar equipment. Utilizing this technology, Concrete Coring can locate obstructions beneath the surface through 2-D and 3-D imaging. GPR scanning has the ability to make the project easier and safer through advanced detection, as well as reduce the risk to damage of any subsurface structures.
